Session 6 – Thoughts from the GM

download-3

So, a rather Epic session last time.  I know we throw the word ‘epic’ around a lot, but I think it was very much appropriate in the last session.

The last session ended with a soon to be dead Troll, most of the party with less than 50% HP, and an elusive Half-Orc causing trouble.  During the previous week, I’d considered what the Troll and Half-Orc were going to do on their turns, and as we ran through the initiative order and continued, their turns came up and the Troll takes Ambar down and the Half-Orc goes invisible.

Session 5 – Thoughts from the GM

Lots of fun last session!  The session moved along pretty smoothly and you got quite a lot done, almost completing your search of the ground floor of the Plague House.

Seems like most of you are getting the hang of the rules and your characters now, and combat was moving a little faster.  While combat in Pathfinder is not as arduous and longwinded as that god awful D&D 4e ‘thing’; hated that btw.

The main points this time are the same as last:

  1. Learn HeroLabs

  2. “Responsibilities”

  3. Notes

  4. Keep checking this site

Know Your Skills – Escape Artist

How well do you know the skills in Pathfinder?

‘Not too well’?  That’s fine, that’s what this is for!  After all, why would you put points in a skill when you don’t understand what it actually does in the context of the game?

There is more information available in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook (now in A5 paperback too!) and Paizo’s Online Reference Document; plus I found a great app for phones/tablets that provides full offline access to every rule that Paizo have, and will, ever release (iOS / Android).

So, Escape Artist…  Sounds obvious?  Ok, but what could it be used for in the context of the game?

Session 4 – Thoughts from the GM

Session 3 – Thoughts from the GM

So, quite a session last night!  Hopefully you all had as much fun as I did and found the rules less of a challenge to get your heads around!

articlefeaturedimagehowwasitforyou

For me it felt like you are getting the hang of it and were pretty nicely settled in.  There was more ‘take up’ with the NPC interaction, more thought around what course of action to take in combat, and some good deductive reasoning.

The main points that I want to raise are the same as last time:

  1. Know your Character and HeroLabs

  2. Share the Spotlight and encourage others
