Session 6 – Thoughts from the GM

download-3

So, a rather Epic session last time.  I know we throw the word ‘epic’ around a lot, but I think it was very much appropriate in the last session.

The last session ended with a soon to be dead Troll, most of the party with less than 50% HP, and an elusive Half-Orc causing trouble.  During the previous week, I’d considered what the Troll and Half-Orc were going to do on their turns, and as we ran through the initiative order and continued, their turns came up and the Troll takes Ambar down and the Half-Orc goes invisible.

Session 5 – Thoughts from the GM

Lots of fun last session!  The session moved along pretty smoothly and you got quite a lot done, almost completing your search of the ground floor of the Plague House.

Seems like most of you are getting the hang of the rules and your characters now, and combat was moving a little faster.  While combat in Pathfinder is not as arduous and longwinded as that god awful D&D 4e ‘thing’; hated that btw.

The main points this time are the same as last:

  1. Learn HeroLabs

  2. “Responsibilities”

  3. Notes

  4. Keep checking this site

Seems like most of you are getting the hang of the rules and your characters now, and combat was moving a little faster.  While combat in Pathfinder is not as arduous and longwinded as that god awful D&D 4e ‘thing’; hated that btw.

The main points that I am raising this time are:

Session 3 – Thoughts from the GM

So, quite a session last night!  Hopefully you all had as much fun as I did and found the rules less of a challenge to get your heads around!

For me it felt like you are getting the hang of it and were pretty nicely settled in.  There was more ‘take up’ with the NPC interaction, more thought around what course of action to take in combat, and some good deductive reasoning.

The main points that I want to raise are the same as last time:

  1. Know your Character and HeroLabs

  2. Share the Spotlight and encourage others

  3. Notes

  4. Keep checking this site

Session 2 – Thoughts from the GM

So, quite a session last night!  Hopefully you all had as much fun as I did and found the rules less of a challenge to get your heads around!

For me it felt like you were all more comfortable, got into your roles (and your rolls!), interacted more with the storyline and listened (mostly) to what I was saying and describing.

The main points that I want to raise are the following:

  1. Know your Character and HeroLabs

  2. Share the Spotlight and encourage others

  3. Notes

  4. Keep checking this site!

Session 1 – Thoughts from the GM

So, it’s the morning after the night before.  Hopefully you all had a good time last night and didn’t find the learning curve too steep!

Err what

It was interesting for me to watch and listen to you all coming together as a group and working out how best to manage and play your characters.  As time goes on, it will of course, get far easier and feel more natural to ‘become’ that character.  So, as the learning points from the first Session, here are my thoughts…

The main points that I have are the following:

  1. Movement Distances

  2. Understanding Spell Details

  3. Cover

  4. Imagine You’re Actually There

EotE – ‘WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE’ – Session 3 (27/08/15)

” They’re after us!?  What do you mean, they’re after us?!?!”

With their lives seemingly revolving around encounters with mysterious ships, it was with some trepidation that the team were perched on the edge of a derelict “freighter”, looking out at an asteroid field, TIE fighters and their ride home sipping left and right to stay out of sight.

EotE – ‘WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE’ – Session 2 (30/07/15)

“Time to Get Paid!”

So with the “holy cr@p!” situation passed them (or so they thought), the 4 protagonists, Jodo, Summer, Xage and Mado began the session just after spluttering their way into a docking bay at the Pronus VI, a quarantine / trade station near Corellia and Duro.

With a message from their friend and boss Tanquar Otral still on their minds, and an Imperial check point between them and the seclusion of the space station, they weighed up their options.

EotE – ‘WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE’ – Session 1 (16/07/15)

“Exploring the Unknown Region ain’t like dustin’ crops boy.”

The day started as many previous days had, flying around in your extraordinarily expensive exploration ship, scanning, investigating, noting things of interest, dropping Nav Beacons and shooting off to the next place. You were 60% of the way through the current mission. Only 6 more jumps and you were on your way back to Bespin’s Cloud City to pick up a nice hefty slab of creds and a well deserved ‘space-beer’ or two.
